‘빨강 머리 앤(Anne of Green Gables)’을 현대적으로 재해석한 전시로, 우리 마음속 추억으로 남아있는 ‘빨강 머리 앤’을 여러 작가들이 회화, 애니메이션, 대형 설치 작품, 음악과 영상 등으로 표현하는 가운데, 일러스트 작가로 참여하였습니다.
앤과 다이애나의 만남과 우정, 성장을 가장 잘 표현할 수 있는 하이라이트 장면들을 선정하였고, 시간 순으로 배열하여 그림을 그렸습니다. 완성된 그림들은 입체로 제작하여 팝업북 형태의 설치 작품에 담아냈습니다. 펼쳤을 때의 높이가 1m에 달하는 이 커다란 팝업북은 전시 기간 내내 나무 재질의 집 모양 박스 안에서 천천히 회전하도록 설계되었습니다.
일러스트를 그리는 과정에서는, 원작 소설에서 묘사되는 에이번리의 아름다운 풍경들이 잘 부각될 수 있는 배경, 시점, 색감을 골랐습니다. 구도는 큰 환경 속에서 작은 아이들이 자라는 모습을 멀리서 지켜보는 느낌으로 연출하였습니다.

This exhibition is a modern reinterpretation of 'Anne of Green Gables' and several artists expressed 'Anne of Green Gables' which remains a memory in our hearts, in paintings, animations, large installations, music, and videos.
High light scenes that express Anne and Diana’s meeting, friendship and growth were selected and the pictures were listed in chronological order.
The finished paintings were produced in three dimensions and included in installation in the form of pop-up books. The large pop-up book, which is one meter high when unfolded, is designed to rotate slowly in a wooden house-shaped box throughout the exhibition period. In the process of drawing illustrations, the background, perspective, and color were chosen to highlight the beautiful scenery of Avonlea depicted in the original novel. The composition of the painting was directed as if watching small children grow up in a large environment from a distance.
