본 전시는 클림트가 남긴 명작과 그의 삶을 현대적 감각으로 재해석한 미디어아트 전시로, 1,5000㎡ 규모의 성수동 S-Factory에서 진행되었습니다. 옛 공장이 주는 건조한 느낌과 대비되는 화려한 영상의 프로젝션 매핑, 라이트 아트, 인터랙티브 콘텐츠, 그리고 앰비언트 사운드를 1층과 2층의 공간 성격에 맞게 구성하였습니다. 당시 시대상을 전복하고자 한 클림트의 대학 천장화는 트러스와 LED를 사용한 도전적이고 현대적인 공간으로, 초상화는 영원히 박제된 사람들을 모티브로 하여 정적이고 신비로운 공간으로 재해석하였습니다. 명작 ‘키스(The Kiss)’는 인터렉션이 가미된 대형 설치물로 재해석하였는데, 겹겹의 컬러풀한 유리 상자 안으로 한 발 한 발 관람객이 나아갈 때마다 새로운 조명이 켜지는, 세상 속 둘만의 꿈같은 ‘Shelter’로 완성되었습니다. 그 외에도 때로는 복도를 가로지르는 가느다란 조명으로, 때로는 세로로 길게 휘어진 스크린들로, 때로는 대형 거울들로, 작품들의 시기별, 주제별 특징에 따라 이를 강화하여 보여줄 수 있는 전시 공간을 디자인하였습니다.

This exhibition is a media art exhibition that reinterprets Klimt's masterpieces and his life in the modern sense and was held at the S-Factory in Seongsu-dong, Seoul which is a scale of 1,500㎡. Projection mappings, lighting arts, interactive contents, and ambient sounds of colorful moods contrasting with the dry feeling of the old factory were organized according to the spatial characteristics of the first and second floors. Klimt's university ceiling paintings, which tried to overthrow the era that time, were reinterpreted as a challenging and modern space using trusses and LED lighting, and the portraits were reinterpreted as a static and mysterious space with the motif of eternally stuffed people. The masterpiece 'The Kiss' was reinterpreted as a large installation with interaction, complete with a dream-like 'Shelter' that lights up every step of the way visitors go into a colorful glass box. In addition, every exhibition space was designed to reinforce and show the concept of works according to the period and theme of the works. For these exhibition spaces, thin lights across the hallway, vertically elongated screens, and large mirrors, and so on were used.
