본 전시는 사적 284호로 지정된 옛 서울역 안에서, 반 고흐의 삶의 궤적을 1,500㎡ 규모로 웅장하게 담아낸 전시입니다. 아름다운 내부 구조물, 반 고흐의 명작, 감성적인 음악이 자연스럽게 어우러지도록, 옛 서울역 형태를 최대한 살린 공간 디자인을 진행하였습니다. 중앙홀에서는 높은 천장에서부터 바닥까지 펼쳐지는 여섯 개의 거대한 커튼을 스크린으로 사용했고, 3등 대합실에서는 환상적인 이미지가 기존의 고풍스러운 공간을 가리지 않도록 트러스를 이용하여 공중에 곡선형 스크린을 여러 개 설치하였습니다. 그 외의 공간에서도 건축물이 가진 아름다움을 강조할 수 있도록, 다양한 방법과 재료로 창문, 기둥, 벽, 천장의 구조에 맞는 스크린과 구조물을 디자인하고 설치하였습니다. 또한 VR 체험 공간이나 AR을 이용한 전시 공간은 반 고흐의 그림 속 공간들을 모티브로 디자인하여 관람객이 더욱 몰입할 수 있도록 하였습니다.

The exhibition grandly portrays the story of Van Gogh's life magnificently inside 1,500 square meters of space for the old Seoul Station, designated as Historic Site No. 284. The space was designed to make the most of the old Seoul Station shape so that the beautiful internal structure, Van Gogh's masterpieces, and emotional music naturally harmonize. In the main hall, six huge curtains extending from the high ceiling to the floor were used as screens, and in the third waiting room, several curved screens were installed in the air using trusses so that fantastic images did not hide the antique space. In order to emphasize the beauty of the old Seoul station in other exhibition spaces too, screens and structures suitable for the structure of windows, columns, walls, and ceilings were designed and installed in various methods and materials. The VR experience space and the exhibition space using AR were designed with the motif of the spaces in Van Gogh's paintings so that visitors could be more immersed.
